It’s hard to be a solo developer and to have every aspect from creation to marketing on your shoulders, but those like known indie developer Stuffed Wombat have managed to take it in stride. However, everyone makes mistakes and he has seemingly made a pretty substantial one in the trailer for his newly announced title Mosa Lina, putting the wrong release year in the video and announcement tweet.
In the tweet, Stuff Wombat announces the new game, stating that Mosa Lina will be a “hostile interpretation of the immersive sim.” Players will need to come up with their own plans in order to achieve the goal of each level. Both the tweet and the video say that the title will be coming out in Autumn 2024, but Stuffed Wombat posted in the replies moments later that he meant 2023.
In a quote tweet he makes sure to apologize to those that helped him with audio and art: silkersoft and lukke, respectively. Wombat states that he has to go and make pizza and kindly requests that players wishlist Mosa Lina on Steam in spite of his error. Both tweets have been seen by thousands of people, so this slight misstep may have been a good marketing move on Wombat’s behalf.
Stuff Wombat is an indie developer that has been releasing smaller single-focus games on Steam since 2019 and on itch.io since even before that. He seems to release new titles and immersive experiences every year or sooner, so players should follow him on Twitter or on itch.io to keep up with his latest projects given he can remember the right launch date.
