Palworld has a huge map to play through, and it’s safe to say that’s a crucial part of the game. Still, many games use procedural generation to fill in spaces and design parts of the map; some change it entirely. Below, we’ll let you know if you’re looking at something new in each playthrough or if the world is static and will remain the same every time.

Does Palworld use Procedural Generation?
No, Palworld’s map is not procedurally generated every time you start a new game. This means every player experiences the same world layout, with identical dungeons, landmarks, and environmental features. This eliminates the element of surprise in repeated playthroughs, and it also ensures a polished and meticulously designed world with the deliberate placement of challenges and resources.
This does not mean the developer has “hand-crafted” or “personally placed” it. This just means the map will be the same for every playthrough. Designing the map may have used procedural generation at some points, so we can’t really be sure about the development. While playing the game, however, you will not see procedural generation take place.
Does The Palworld Map Change Every New Game?
No, Palword does not get a new map change at the start of every game. Since Palworld’s map is static, your experience will be identical across different save files. The layout of all regions, from scorching deserts to frigid tundras, remains consistent.
You can change the look of the map based on how you interact with it. So, the location of your base, traps, and other constructions will differ between players, allowing for some personalization within the fixed map. You’ll also be gathering resources and taking things away.
How Big Is The Map In Palworld?
Despite not boasting the vastness of some open-world giants, Palworld’s map offers a satisfying size for exploration. Covering approximately 16 square kilometers, it’s roughly six square miles. While this may seem modest compared to titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it’s a large map nonetheless.
Palworld’s map packs diverse biomes, hidden secrets, and plenty of challenges within its borders. Additionally, the game is still in early access, leaving the possibility of map expansions and new regions in future updates. However, six square miles is huge as it is and should be more than enough space for early access.
