What is Destiny 2 Season of the Wish?
In Destiny 2 Season 23, titled Season of the Wish, the storyline unfolds with the introduction of a new Ahamkara, a hidden spawn of Riven, following the climactic end of the Season of the Witch. This season resolves the long-standing mystery of the Last Wish raid’s final 15th wish, unveiling a new-born Ahamkara threat and bringing the dormant Ahamkara egg plot to the forefront. The season promises deeper exploration into the lore of Ahamkara Wish Dragons, possibly utilizing their wish-granting powers to fight against the Witness and explore the Traveler. Key characters such as Savathun and Mara Sov play significant roles, tying back to the Forsaken expansion and referencing characters like Cayde and Crow.
New Season 23 Content
In terms of new content, the season inherits elements from the acclaimed Season of the Witch, such as dynamic Seasonal activities and a revised upgrade structure. Players can expect two new armor sets, a fresh arsenal of Legendary weapons, and at least one new Exotic weapon. A highlight of the season is the addition of a new dungeon, potentially diverging from the Dreaming City theme and exploring new locations like Europa or Neomuna.
Season 23 Changes
Season 23 also brings significant changes and updates. Introducing the in-game Fireteam Finder LFG system and the ability to access the Vault from Orbit are major quality-of-life improvements. The season will see a sandbox update, including the Thorn Catalyst, the return of The Citadel PvP map, and the introduction of a new Sparrow Control PvP mode. Changes in the PvP reward structure for Trials of Osiris and Competitive will be implemented, alongside updates to Trials and Iron Banner weapons. The new dungeon, alongside these numerous updates, marks a critical phase in the game’s narrative arc, leading up to the forthcoming expansion, The Final Shape.
