Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is finally here, and it’s brought a host of changes and improvements, from revamped netcode to new smoke grenade mechanics. But one thing that’s caught the eye of many players is the game’s achievement system—or lack thereof. Unlike its predecessor, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), which had a whopping 167 achievements, CS2 has just one hidden achievement. If you’re curious about how to unlock this lone achievement, you’re in the right place.

CS2 Hidden Achievement – How to Unlock ‘A New Beginning’
Unlocking the only achievement in CS2, aptly named A New Beginning, is surprisingly straightforward. All you need to do is play and finish a match. That’s it. You don’t even need to join a multiplayer game; launching a private game will suffice. Once you close CS2 entirely, the achievement should pop up, marking 100% game completion in your collection.
Where are all the Missing Achievements in Counter-Strike 2?
If you’re wondering what happened to the extensive list of achievements that were part of CS:GO, you’re not alone. It appears that CS2 has opted for a clean slate, doing away with all the achievements that players had accumulated over the years in the previous version.
Will Achievements be back in CS2?
From the single achievement in CS2 called A New Beginning, personally, I think it’s safe to say that more achievements will likely be added in future updates. Valve hasn’t confirmed this, but it’d be odd if they didn’t, as left it as it is. The name itself suggests that CS2 is starting fresh, separate from its CS:GO roots, and will be its own entity. Valve often takes risks, even if they’re not instantly popular, so this could signal a focus on making the game more competitive.
