Developer Maze Theory has revealed some exciting details about the new content coming to their immersive narrative VR game, inspired by the epic gangster drama, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom. The announcement was made as part of the recent Upload VR Showcase 2023.
Set in 1928 Britain, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom immerses players into a perilous world where they have been fleeing the firing squad for over a decade. Seeking aid from the infamous crime lord, Tommy Shelby, players find themselves entangled in the hunt for Winston Churchill’s Red Box. This fabled briefcase contains the identities of every British agent across the globe. Tasked with retrieving this precious item, players must navigate and survive the criminal underworld.
Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom features fast-paced shootouts requiring players to improvise strategies to stay alive. The game is currently available on Meta Quest 2 and PICO 4. It will also be available soon for PC via Steam.
Building upon their previously disclosed 2023 content roadmap, Maze Theory showcased more exciting upcoming features during the Upload VR Showcase. According to Arielle Fox, Social and Community Manager for Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, players can look forward to a series of new fast-paced and action-packed missions offered by Tommy Shelby. Additionally, the game will be receiving new story elements, captivating players with an even more immersive journey.
Later in the summer, Maze Theory plans to introduce a highly interactive social element to the game. This new feature will allow up to six players, represented by their avatars, to gather in the iconic Garrison Pub. Within this themed social space, players can engage in lively conversations, partake in minigames such as darts, and enjoy meaningful interactions with one another.
